Business Innovation with Twitter
Twitter has definitely come a long way since its inception, and users from across the globe continue to sign up and get their teeth sunk in. From what your dog is currently chewing on and how much you hate that certain celebrity (I’m looking at you Justin Bieber) to the hot topics of the world today (Steve Jobs, Occupy Wall Street, you get the picture). But what I love about Twitter is the amazing affects it can have on a business and how it brings so much more to the table.
Here are a few examples of how some companies have added Twitter to their social media marketing strategy to improve their customer engagement:
1. A Leading UK bakery chain use Twitter to promote free vouchers in conjunction with newspapers, respond to customer queries and complaints in real time and promote competitions for all ages with chances to win prizes
2. One of Britain’s largest Gas and Electricity companies now use Twitter to respond quicker to customer complaints, with their twitter team relaying customer problems to direct departments, cutting out the need to sit on the phone listening to 10 minutes of Celine Dion hold music.
3. One of Britain’s outdoor clothing brands use Twitter to let their fans know of upcoming promotions on their website and in-stores as well as promoting special events they hold and responding to customer queries in real-time
4. An independent surf shop based in the South East of England Tweet about new and upcoming gear that will be coming in stock as well as encouraging followers to comment on impartial news and reviews of water sport gear.
Not only does Twitter help customers engage better with the brands they love and the services they pay for, but it gives companies a more humanistic feel to them, by quicker responses and direct, personalised communication, you feel that little more cared and catered for!
